29 posts · Joined 2008. #11 · Apr 4, 2009. Not sure if my current "problem" is what's discussed here. About a month ago I started notcing small patches of oil on the drive roughly where I normally park the ST. At first I thought it was a visitors car, but it happened 3 times so I ruled that out.
. Struggle to select 5th/6th while driving! Just changed one of my driveshafts this evening (AGAIN) and topped up the gearbox oil from the top as the filler plug is round as anything, to do this i took off one of the linkage cables to give better access, now driving I'm struggling to pick 5th or 6th because its not blocking me from going all the
I could sort of feel it pull the timing and cut the boost by half (around 0.6 - 0.7 bar) so still driveable but the ecu wasnt happy with something. The next thing i tried was to replace the boost solenoid, i got a supposedly genuine one from ebay for about £40 but the part numbers were right.
Remove the 2 plastic strips from the roof, check for cracks in the body sealer and apply new one. Also, under antenna, hatch hinges pockets or under the windshield, in the pockets behind the wiper assembly (especially on facelifts). That should help you keep the car dry. Reply.
Shaking/vibration when accelerating. For a while now my ST shakes/vibrates when the turbo kicks in. I haven't noticed any loss of power just the shaking. The garage reckon the turbo needs replacing, quoted £1100! I find it hard to believe that a fault with the turbo would cause the car to shake without losing power.
Even the sportiest Focus, the ST, was a five-door hatchback. Ford did give the Focus a mild facelift in 2015, but the styling changes were restricted to the front and rear, with the doors not altering at all. Finding a second-hand door shouldn’t present too many problems the Focus sold in reasonable numbers and many ended up in recycling yards.
